October 27, 2008 - the day I stepped out of the plane and made my first mark on the American soil. The day I got reunited with my husband ( my fiance at that time) and started our life together. The same day two years ago where I sat on the passenger seat staring out the window and still couldn't believe that I am finally here in America. It was like walking in a dream never wanting to wake up, except, when I felt the chill in my bare skin ( I was wearing a tank top, loose pants, and flip flops) I realized that it wasn't a dream at all. "Brrrrrr" was the first phrase I said to myself. When I told my husband that I feel cold and freezing, he laughed and said, "WELCOME TO AMERICA!"
notice the ice on the window? now that's America :) |
I welcome myself for the second time in the Land of Milk and Honey. A place for our hopes and dreams to start.
